Color Me Pink

Know what the name of tonight's full moon is?

The Pink Moon. It got its name from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of spring.

Other names for April's celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon and among coastal tribes, the Full Fish Moon - because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn.

Tonight...take a few moments and peek at her beauty. She won't be back for another year.

How cool is that! I am going to be looking at her tonight for sure.

I am also glad for the warning for our students tomorrow, the full moon always makes things more interesting!
