I can tell that it's a full moon.....

..... the Full Worm Moon, to be exact. As the temperature begins to warm and the ground begins to thaw, earthworm casts appear, heralding the return of the robins. The more northern tribes knew this Moon as the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signaled the end of winter; or the Full Crust Moon, because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time of tapping maple trees, is another variation. To the settlers, it was also known as the Lenten Moon, and was considered to be the last full Moon of winter. Either way you call it, you have to call it beautiful!

It was one of those days that was an experience of mis-haps and dumb stuff. Ever have one of those? Where even the easiest of tasks turns into a full-blown exercise of futility and brain power? I trekked to Wal-Mart for some basics; one of which was a new air filter. Darn if they didn't have the size I needed....totally out. They had plenty of the big one (my technical term, mind you), but none of the littler one. So I made my way to Fry's. Yeah! They had plenty of the size I needed - of course, at twice the price. Oh well. I threw it in my cart and headed through check out. As I left, the firemen from our local fire station were taking donations for MS. I handed one of them a donation and told them that about two years ago they had responded to a call at my house in the middle of the night..and that I truly appreciated them being there for me. 'The nice fireman' thanked me with a sweet smile..and I headed towards my car....

.....that's when I noticed it....

oh, gawd....

......

I was wearing my shirt inside-out!!! Seams, tag, label and all.

Now...mind you. This is not the first time! Oh no! Try more like the THIRD TIME!! A sure sign that I am old and feeble of mind and incapable of taking proper care of myself! I'm one step closer to the old home!!

I wonder how many shoppers and 'nice firemen' noticed this!?!

I came home...shaking off the effects of my advancing age and promptly hopped up on a chair to change out my air filter.

WHAT IN THE WORLD??!!!?? oh nooooooooooooooooooo..........

....

....

it's the wrong size....

I need the BIGGER one................

(frown and tears begin to form...)

My great son and daughter were confused as to why I was so upset. When I explained my shirt plight, they said they were thankful that at least it was a shirt and not some other article of clothing...or that I had even remembered to put a shirt ON! Funny.

Daughter returned the air filter and brought home 4 of the right size and changed it out for me. Son sent a diet cherry limeade from Sonic home with daughter. 'Things are going to be okay, Mom. Don't worry."
It must be the full moon.

I'm staying home tonight. Taking a hot bath, my comfy pajamas and maybe a glass of wine. I'm making sure that my pj's are on the right side out and that the glass will be the right size! You never know when you might need those friendly firemen in the middle of the night!
Take a moment tonight. Look at the moon. Are you missing someone dear to you? Do they live far away? Call them. Tell them to go to the window and look at the moon. And you look at it at the same time. Two people looking at the moon from different, far away places. The moon, in all her ethereal beauty will connect you two closer for the moment.
The moon. She is to be enjoyed!

actually, i do that quite often...the whole inside out thing...in fact, bryan told me this morning (on the way for my colonoscopy :0) that my shirt was inside out....at that point...since i wouldn't need it on anyway, i figured...who cares?..but on further inspection, i had appropriately dressed myself this a.m.!

i will go look at the moon...right now...thank you for bringing it to my attention!
have a wonderful night...

Carol, I am also guilty of the "inside out shirt" disease. Last Friday, after work, I met the fellow 5th grade teachers at Nando's for Happy Hour (Happier Since it's now OFFICIALLY Spring Break),I ran home to change out of my jammies (pj day at school) and into real clothes. After about 10 minutes of chatting at the table, I looked down and realized that my pockets weren't where they should be. YIKES! Had to go make a quick change in the bathroom. Cameron wears his clothes backwards and inside out all the time - in the immortal words of Michael Jackson, "you are not alone." :-)

Oh dear...is it OK that I was giggling at the end of that post? I swear, I did the exact same thing not too long ago, and here I am trying to keep up appearances because I run a clothing store....tee-hee!

My Friday was fine this week, but Saturday? That one kicked me in the hiner for sure...

One day, I was out and about, getting all sorts of errands accomplished. Felt so good! Then, at the market, I ran into a dear friend who, while trying to mask the horror that was showing on her face, let me know - ever so sweetly - that I was wearing mismatched shoes!
