Finding Out What I'm Made Of

WARNING: those of you who are faint-of-heart, you might want to go check out another site right now....'cuz I'm about to get real on you...
ABSOLUTELY FACINATING!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My friend, K, and I went to the Arizona Science Center tonight... they did an absolutely fabulous thing of inviting educators to a FREE exhibition night of their newest exhibit... BodyWorlds3....
bodies which have been plasticized (the process is FACINATING!!) and posed in positions which were absolutely nothing short of graceful, awesome and so, so beautifully educational!! I have never, ever, ever in my life seen what my eyes saw tonight...and I am forever changed in how I look at this most unimaginable creation...the human body. I saw every organ, tendon, muscle, ligament... I could truly... go on and on... did you know that the average person sees 27,000 sunrises in their lifetime?? Did you know that in a 24 hour period ...
* your fingertips sweat a thimble-full of sweat?
* your hairs grow a combined length of 30 yards !?!?!
* your retina's top layer is burned off when you open your eyes in the morning and a fresh new layer of cells helps you see the new morning
Did you also know that the uterus is the size of an avocado seed? The three bones which comprise the hearing system off of the ear drum are the same size when you are an adult as they were when you were born?? Food moves through the esophogus as the rate of 2 inches a second??
Honestly, I tell you... if you have even the slightest chance to check out this amazing exhibit, you owe it to yourself to truly see what you are made of.....

I didn't know you lived in Arizona. I saw that exibit on the news. It looked interesting in a creepy kind of way. I had no idea about the facts you mentioned.
